After an eventful race in Turkey, Formula 1 returns to Canada after the race was dropped from the calendar for 2009.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a high speed track that is both a driver and fan favorite, with the infamous ‘Wall of Champions’ alongside the final chicane being responsible for many memorable racing incidents in the past.
The battle between the Mercedes GP drivers continues to heat up, as since his shift to the longer wheelbase car, Schumi has outpaced his younger teammate on a regular basis and is expected to be competitive at a race he has won seven times previously. Meanwhile, a good result for Rosberg will inject some energy back into his campaign after recently struggling to reproduce the pace that he showed at the start of the year.
With Force India looking to establish both drivers as regular fixtures in the top-ten, Tonio Liuzzi has reverted to an old chassis which he drove to point scoring finishes in Bahrain and Melbourne. Liuzzi will also be using the SRW (Switchable Rear Wing) in Montreal – Force India’s intepretation of the F-duct – to enhance the high speed performance of his VJM03 around the Montreal Circuit.
Currently holding down tenth position in the drivers standings, Adrian Sutil is in great form, scoring points at the last three races and despite never having finished a race in Canada, all the signs are good for another strong result.
