The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is the Gran Premio de Espana at Catalunya, the European phase of the season bringing racing to the series' heartland.
McLaren Mercedes' Jenson Button leads the championship on 60 points and will be looking to emulate his efforts last season when he took the top step of the podium at last years race at this circuit.
Sitting second on the championship leaderboard is Nico Rosberg, the Mercedes driver showing great consistency with two podiums so far and he will be planning to cement his position with a first ever Formula 1 win. Fellow Mercedes pilot Michael Schumacher will also be plotting for a win on a track he has emerged victorious a staggering six times.
Force India have had a solid start to the season and go into the European leg of the championship with confidence. Adrian Sutil is holding down ninth place in the standings and will be extremely motivated after not even completing one lap last year after being involved in a collision at the start of last year’s race. Tonio Liuzzi has shown his prowess at grinding out good results this year and will be looking for a strong qualifying result to finish the race further up the field.
