Ben Snowden at the Long Beach Grand Prix

The Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA. In efforts to eradicate child abuse by raising awareness for Project Nightlight, on April 13th-15th, Riders from MPC Productions and Power Shoes organized a vert demo during the three-day race weekend of the 33rd Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is the largest spectator, sporting event in southern California, boasting over 175,000 in daily attendance. With BMXers Ben Snowden and Koji Kraft, and skateboarders Sandros Dias, Mike Crum, and Chris Gentry in attendance, this MPC Production is sure to raise enough awareness to empower the community to stand up against child abuse.

To start off this three-day vert demo, The Collaboration Project, an action sports community program that allocates funds to different action sports environmental, safety, career and youth development causes, threw a party at Sangria on the Hermosa Beach Pier, where the athletes, organizers and fans collected funds for one of the program's they support, Project Nightlight. Based out of L.A., Project Nightlight is an organization that teaches teens to recognize child abuse, inspires them to report it, as well as monitor foster care situations to ensure proper care.

Held at the Long Beach Arena, the first show started at 11:30am on Friday morning. The shows were free and offered entertainment for spectators three times daily during the extent of the event. The last show on Sunday was willingly extended as the athletes pushed themselves into a twenty minute grand finale.
