Chanelle Sladics snowboards, surfs and skateboards and this weekend she just bagged another medal, with a 3rd position at the Winter X Games.
Chanelle began her WX career in 2003 with a 13th-place result in the superpipe field, then came back after a year hiatus to compete in Slopestyle for 2005, where she placed 12th. This year she returns to the Slopestyle course armed with a new trick, the 720, which she landed in a contest, the Abominable Snow Jam, for the first time this summer. She excels at spinning fast, loves rails, and her lifelong passion for skateboarding is evident in her creative style and use of the course.
Chanelle was one of ten girls to survive the bloody elimination round, a battle that put North Lake Tahoe's Kimmy Fasani on a crutch, with a bruised shin and tweaked ligament, and Prisilla Levac in a cast with a broken ankle. Cheryl Maas, Natasza Zurek and Mary Sallah were also last minute injury withdrawals, and superpipe champ Torah Bright came out swinging with a broken wrist. So, all in all, the going was pretty tough!
