The 2nd Annual Alpinestars sponsored Dirty Hairy's Backyard Bonanza was in full force, with a grip of the top mx riders showing up to support it. This is a special event that helps raise awareness for spinal cord injuries, and also to let everyone know about much larger scale events being set up in January of 08' to raise money for stem cell research. Launi D is the owner of Hairy Situation salon, and put this event together in her back yard strictly for the love of her friends that have been injured while riding. Jeremy McGrath, Grant Langston, Josh Grant, Jason Lawrence, David Pingree, Micky Dymond, Nathan Ramsey, and Ronnie Renner to name a few that showed up for the back yard mini moto fun. Ricky James showed up and the TV crews were all over him for interviews. For those of you that don't know, Ricky was a top young up and coming motocross racer that suffered a spinal cord injury putting him in a wheel chair. Ricky is still in all the magazines on his custom Honda going faster then half the racers out there, and one of the most positive roll models in the sport. Alpinestars' Malcolm McCassy was on hand to announce, pumping up the crowd during the great night of racing. McGrath was on fire all night with the MC style we love to watch, having some fun battles with good buddies Pingree, and Ronnie Renner. 2007 Outdoor National Champion Grant Langston showing up was an honor, and everyone at the event gave a round of applause when the blond haired champion entered the track. Everyone had a blast, and can't wait until next year at the 3rd annual.
