Y&R Ride Day

Dan Jackson at XDL Daytona Beach 2011!
"Following a long winter, we were excited to head south for the opening round of XDL in Daytona Beach! This years forecast was mid 70's and sunny! Way better then last years freezing rain temps! The comp was held during the last weekend of bike week this year so we went down a few days early to work on our tan. During the week we hit up the local practice spots, played a few rounds of golf, and cruised A1A & Main Street on the Zuuumma! The freshly wrapped scooter grabbed more attention then $50k choppers! I wouldn't want to cruise around the busy streets any other way! The warm weather made for a better competition this year! New to the XDL competition is the Racing 905 Speed & Style race and the Wheelie Teach Race. I was excited to hear about the addition of these 2 comps. Its simple..the fastest man wins! After practice it was real clear that I was the man to beat in both events. In the final rounds I brought to much confidence in and made simple mistakes around a cone that cost me victory in both events. I don't think there is a feeling any worse then losing a race in the 1st round knowing you had it in the bag! "An execution factor in a race that was so simple (wheelie around a cone) that it was difficult" - Thomas Evans, took me out of the competition. Everyone knows I will be bringing my A game to Scottsdale next week!!! Ive also decided to change up some things on my bike this year. Its time to get innovative and put myself back up on the podium. I have the skill to win, it just seems right now an innovative bike setup helps with the judging results. Look for a strong recap from AZ next week!" -Dan Jackson Check out www.xdlshow.com for more info about upcoming XDL shows round 2 next week in Scottsdale, AZ!
