Harvey doubles up in Valencia

Jack Harvey annihilated the opposition at the latest rounds of the Formula BMW Europe Series at Valencia, winning both races in an emphatic display.

Riding high after winning at the previous round in Zandvoort, Harvey got his weekend off to the perfect start by grabbing pole position for both races, giving him a distinct advantage for the races around the tight Valencia street circuit.

Starting from pole position Harvey showed too much pace, managing to gap the field in both races in a truly dominant display.

“It's just been the perfect weekend,” said Jack. “It doesn't get any better than that, pole and the top step of the podium for both races, it's definitely my best race weekend so far. I knew coming into the weekend that I'd have to start from at least the front row to be in with a chance of going for a win again. Even though the BMW cars aren't as wide as others there still isn't that much room and only a few places to really pull off a clean overtake. So, a good qualifying was going to be really important and pole for both races was a great way to start.

The results mean that Jack now leads the championship by 33 points, a gap he hopes to extend at Silverstone this weekend.
