A1 Team India set the quickest time of pre-season testing at Silverstone's National circuit with Narain Karthikeyan behind the wheel to set a smashing lap record of a 47.809s lap in the morning's session.
Narain's and Team India's lap time beat the previous testing session, by three tenths of a sec, which was briefly held by A1 Team New Zealand's Jonny Reid.
This is the first time India has topped any kind of official test or session in A1GP competition and if the team stays on this pace then this bodes well for the team's chances in the coming A1 season.
A1GP has some of the best competitive racing in motorsports and this was seen by having only 1.2 seconds separating all twenty two teams...India in 1st and Mexico in 22nd.
Reid bettered his time in final testing but not enough to beat out Narain and Team India leaving him and the Black Beauty in 2nd with Neel Jani 3rd for Team Switzerland and Christian Vietoris 4th for Team Germany, the reigning A1GP champions.
Narain had this to say about the teams consistent success in testing..."It was just testing and it will be qualifying at Zandvoort when we really know where we are. But it is a great confidence boost."
