For Spies, there is now nothing left to do but look ahead to season finale at Laguna Seca. "We'll come back for Laguna," he said with enthusiasm. "It's going to be exciting for sure."

Somewhat outshined by the dramatic duel for the title between Mladin and Spies, Monster Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking placed third in Georgia, a lengthy 20.34 seconds behind runner-up Spies. Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates was fourth, followed by Monster Kawasaki’s Roger Lee Hayden. Hayden earned fifth the hard way, having to pass American Honda’s Jake Zemke on the white flag lap.
