World Cup Win In Canada

World Cup Win In Canada - (Anneke Beerten report) - The 3rd round of the UCI mountain bike world cup was in Mont-Sainte Anne, Canada this weekend. The first time I came to Mont-Sainte Anne was in '98 when they were host of the mtb World Championships. People are really into mountain biking in this area and I enjoy going here every time.

During 4-cross practice I was having a lot of fun, I liked the course and I had a good feeling on my bike. In my qualifying run I made a little mistake and qualified 3rd. I was not to stressed about it, I knew the first turn was going to be really important here. In my semi final I was elbow to elbow with Tara Llanes in the first turn. I had no speed to do the next jump. Tara still went for it and crash. I could not go around here and I crashed to. With one hand I did not let go of my handlebar and I was able to get back on my bike fast, I was still able to pass the two other girls and I went from 3rd to 1st position in the semi final!

In the final I had a good start, Jill was on the inside of me and she pushed a bit to the outside to take the first turn wide. I guess she went in a bit to fast...here front wheel slide out and I was able to pass here and still jump the big triple. The rest of the course down went good without any mistakes! Hihaa another victory.

Womens 4-cross results:
1. Anneke Beerten
2. Fionn Griffiths
3. Jill Kintner
4. Mio Suemasa
